The Ministry of Interior and the Emergency Authority – as reported by the Emirati News Agency “WAM” – urged the public to adhere to the instructions issued by the relevant health and security authorities, foremost of which is preventing gatherings, and that leaving the house is only necessary or for reasons of work, and for the purpose of purchasing basic needs of medicine, food and roaming For personal cars for the family from one house and for a maximum of three people in each car without going to public places while maintaining safe distances when mixing with the family and adhering to the precautionary measures and taking into account social separation.
The Ministry recommended not to go to hospitals except in critical or necessary cases, noting that subsequent instructions will be issued regarding the use of public transportation, taxis and other means of transportation, stressing that the applicable diseases law applies penalties to violators in this regard that amount to imprisonment or a fine.
The UAE Ministry of Health and Community Protection and the National Emergency and Crisis Authority closed all commercial centers, shopping malls and open markets that include selling fish, vegetables and meat, for a period of two weeks subject to review and evaluation, provided that it will take effect after 48 hours.
