The United States confirmed its participation in the World Expo Dubai 2020 after the UAE government had to bear the cost of its booth at the exhibition.
After previous warnings to the United States about the non-resolution of its participation in the exhibition, the US authorities confirmed their participation in the Expo 2020, which opens in October, and is the largest international exhibition in the Middle East and Africa.
The US State Department said in a statement that “the American wing is made possible thanks to the generosity of the UAE government, in recognition of the strong partnership between the United States and the United Arab Emirates.”

The United States blocks government funding for such events, and President Donald Trump has often criticized spending outside the United States when it comes to paying aid.

For his part, Mike Pompeo asked Congress to make an exception and bear the cost of the Dubai Expo, expressing the fear that the United States would appear in a position of weakness in an exhibition that will be used by the growing influence of China, to show its strength in the technology sector in an important region.

However, US lawmakers expressed their doubts and encouraged Pompeo to launch a special fundraising campaign, which prompted the State Department to announce last month that US participation was unresolved.

The official website of the Dubai Expo website stated that the American pavilion will offer 3D printing for artificial limbs and organs, a trip to Mars, and an ideal future city with minimal traffic.
The US State Department said: “Exhibitions represent important opportunities to show freedom and ideals, institutions and culture, and the global leadership of America.”

The ministry had warned earlier that the lack of government funding jeopardized the efforts of “Minneapolis” and “Houston” to host future exhibitions that could create thousands of jobs.

Washington: The UAE will bear the costs of our booth at the “Dubai Expo 2020”

The United States announced on Wednesday that it will be able to participate in the international exhibition, which is hosted by Dubai, after the UAE government paid for its booth at the Expo 2020.

After she had warned that her participation in the exhibition was not settled, the American authorities confirmed her participation in the “Expo 2020”, which opens in October, and is considered the largest international exhibition in the Middle East and Africa.

“The American Pavilion is made possible by the generosity of the UAE government in recognition of the strong partnership between the United States and the United Arab Emirates,” the State Department said in a statement.

The statement did not provide details about the contribution, but US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had previously spoken of the need for $ 60 million to set up the pavilion at the six-month fair.
