Colonel Saeed Al-Madhani, Director of the Ports Police Center in Dubai Police, affirmed the General Police’s keenness to use the latest modern technology in working to implement government decisions in the areas of jurisdiction, the most recent of which was the temporary preventive closure of public beaches announced by the “Ministry of Health and Community Protection” and The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority to prevent the spread of Corona virus.
He said that the Dubai Police is conducting “drones” patrols to verify the implementation of the decision and issue instructions and directives regarding the necessity of evacuating those who may be present on public beaches.
Colonel Al-Madhani stated that the Ports Police Station adopts the drone patrols in its daily work through the “Nawras” project that it is implementing in cooperation with the Drone Center in the Dubai Police, stressing that unmanned aircraft operate in the marine and land areas of the Ports Police Center aiming to enhance security And safety, and follow-up to marine incidents, navigation, public beaches and activities in these areas.
Colonel Al-Madhani explained that the drones are equipped with cameras that have the ability to photograph events in coverage areas, whether during day or night periods, as well as they contain amplifiers to broadcast the message that the Dubai police want to deliver to the public, and currently these amplifiers are used to communicate the message of the need to evacuate Beaches in implementation of the state’s decision to temporarily close it.
Colonel Al-Madhani called on members of the public to adhere to the precautionary instructions for Corona virus, to stay away from gathering places and to stay in their homes, wishing everyone safety and security.
